1. for 表sb目的时，后面只能接名词, 不能用v-ing. 如用动词，只能用to do.

例子：I go to restaurant for a dinner. (正确)

  I go to USA for learning English. (错误)

2. for 后接v-ing时，一般是说明sth的用途.

例：It is a knife for slicing bread.

3. so that, in order that 使用上无区别，只不过so that 更常用，更口语化。

4。关于最后一个动词能否用call, 偶认为可以。

请各位NN指正。

在OG上貌似很少看见FOR 后面跟V-ING的形式...

个人以为，for用在这里，会让人误解不是表目的，而是表原因。

原句是：suggest reducing software prices to decrease the
                    incentive for pirating

翻译出来：建议用软件价格的下降来遏制盗版的利润。

用了for的C是：suggest the reduction of software prices for
            decreasing the incentive for pirating

翻译出来可以是：暗示软件价格的下降（是因为）盗版利润的降低。

不当之处请指教。
