Tony from Hong Kong.  My studying efficiency has been fluctuated these days because of the office work load. I feel really tired after office hour and couldn’t concentrate on the GMAT revision.  Hence, I decide to open a post to regularly report my GMAT revision status in CD in order to boost my morale in GMAT revision.  Hope reporting my status in a regular manner could keep myself up for the GMAT exams !!!

Thx CD, thx all the CDers !!! Feel really warm when I read about all the encouraging posts, all the revision tips/skills, all the JJ ---  CD is like a family !!! We work hard together !!!  All comments are welcome !!!!  

By the time i can get 700+, i should have a feeling like playing "Street Fighter 2" --- I can fully feel what the reaction of my enemy even i close my eyes !!!!!----  GMAT is like playing video game, the more you practise, the more accuracy you will be !!! 700+ is right there !!!

小安的阅读方法真的好好啊！可惜对话那段看起来有点吃力，今天简单的整理了一下，要是有整理不当的地方，小安千万别怪偶破坏原创啊！

There is a good way to improve reading, try to get my post and try to practice hard on the second round review, you can get a framework of RC and you will hardly do wrong on some question types, and then again the third round review will help you to practice what you learned from the second round, do not ignore this round, because when I finally take test, I have no tip for any question types. The tips I summarized are all translated into a feeling, I can easily correctly choose the answer according to my feelings, you have to practice to get those tips all translated into a habit.

Before you practice, try to think “why those answers are wrong?”, “Is there anything common in the wrong answers?”, “And in the right answers?” Try to comprehend what is "related" and what is "unrelated"，do not easily judge, try to comprehend what is "related" and what is "unrelated"?? What is "related" and what is "unrelated" information (choice), that is a very important rule to quickly rule out some wrong choices and the next is “what is conform to the author”, “what is conform to the author's attitude”, and “what is not (also choices)”. If you see, try to read the passage again for the attitude info, this is a great rule to rule out some wrong choices, the attitude thing and I can tell you that, I did all the RC infer question without relocate because I can easily rule out wrong answers, memorize the pattern, and try to practice. Without practice, you can get nothing. But it is the goal; you should do something before hand. First, categorize all the RC questions You should guarantee 100% right on "main idea" type questions, try to collect all detail questions, I mean those with line number or key words, try to get these right answer back to the passage. You will see some question rules. I do not want to tell you because you can get the rules by yourself, if I tell you the detailed rule, you will not certainly get what I mean. Then collect the "structure type", and promise yourself you can do 90% right or higher, it is just easy like "main idea and attitude" thing.

Do you know why you should get question types apart? First, you can get suttle feelings about how to make a question Second, you can get info about how to prepare to do those questions when you are reading the passage, it is very important to get the question right, you will see when you finished summarizing, you can easily tell that “oh, I think ETS will make a question in here", when you are reading the passage, when you know there is a structure type questions, you will think following questions when reading: 1. why the author write this paragraph? 2. What he want to tell us? 3. Is there any change in attitude? 4. What is the function of the detail in this paragraph? 5. What may be the relation between this paragraph and the whole passage? That is very important! Not everyone do that when reading, so they have to relocate info and it cost precious time, you should analyze the question like "what can I get the answer when I read", it is equal to "what part of passage I should read carefully when I read", I get all passages reread and underlined what part is the key to question. I mean on the passage using fluerecent pen, it is very clear.

Second: try to get all infer question collected, try to contrast the answer and the original text and try to get what is wrong about the wrong questions
     

Why they are all wrong, do not stop on why they are all wrong when you can get some feeling like "too extreme", you should think hard on how to quickly rule out some of them, that is the "related/unrelated" stuff. And the "attitude" stuff, which I mentioned above, the infer questions are very important if you want to get higher scores such as 730+. You should categorize on subject matter, you will see that what the "science" passages want to test you on. The most important is "the whole logic relation between facts and stuffs", you have to get the logic relation between A,B,C,D...A lead to B, C can restrain A. D can restrain B, you must quickly realized that both C and D can restrain B, only A can lead to B, you only should memorize the "either lead to or restrain" relationships between things, do not get it more complicated, you will confused if you do not memorize or memorize too much. So just lead to or restrain, just support or do not support, that is enough for quickly ruling out most confusing wrong answers without relocating.

When you get 文科 passages, pay more attention on 列举, when you get economic and management passages, pay more attention to the logic推理顺序and support/unsupported relationship. You can easily get the feeling if you summarize and can get detailed feelings.

Third:

1. Try to directly get all the answers from passage because you are familiar with the passages. Do not see the questions, try to get what may be a question here

2. When you finished reading, try to write the frame in Chinese (or English) in a paper. It is quite like to write down 机经, do not read questions, do not read the passage when you write the frame,

Why you have to do this?

--To know what you have forgotten and the capacity of your memorization and you can improve in the next passage. Every paragraph, five questions and what may be the key point for questions and finally you will improve on the ability to memorize more of the passage framework, the more and the clear you can memorize the frame of the passage, the less time you have to spend on questions, practice in this round and try to get all your tips summarized into reading, you cannot tell clear rules finally, and you have get the all steps. On the third round, try to answer the questions after finish the writing. Why? Try to practice "related/unrelated" and "conform or not conform to the attitude" rule, this is all I know about RC review and try to practice more passages in one day on the second round. The more you can get in one day, the stronger you feel about RC, it's easy to say but very tough.

阅读的提高有捷径可循，可以参见小安的相关帖子。

第二遍总结要努力练习，对阅读部分有大体结构性的了解，就不容易在一些问题类型上出错。

第三遍总结将有助于练习应用在第二遍总结中学到的心得，不能忽视。因为在考试的时候，没有什么技巧可言，所谓技巧我总结就是培养一种感觉，根本不存在技巧。这种感觉可以让我们确定正确的答案。因此，不断的总结，把所谓技巧都变成习惯，是十分必要的。

在练习开始前，先琢磨一下

1、 为什么那些答案是错误的？它们有什么共同之处？对正确答案也要进行同样的思考。

2、 要理解什么是相关的信息（选项），什么是不相关的信息（选项）？不要轻易下结论，这是迅速排除错误选项的一项重要原则。所谓相关和不相关是看是否和作者的态度相一致。这是排除错误选项的重要原则，根据态度信息，不需要重新定位就可以排除推断题中的错误选项。

练习记忆问题类型，尽早不断加以练习。把问题分类总结可以培养对题目的感觉，ETS会怎么样出题？以及怎样对应付这些问题。总结完后，才会很容易找到ETS的出题点。

1、 首先对问题类型进行分类，保证内容型主题题的正确率为100%。

2、 收集细节型问题，那些有行号或关键词提示的问题，回文中找到答案，从中找出一些规律。各人总结的规律不尽相同。仁者见仁，智者见智。

3、 收集掌握“结构型”主题题，保证正确率在90%以上，通常这类问题和态度题、内容型主题一样，不算困难。

4、 当碰到结构类型问题时候，要思考一下：

1）、 作者为什么写这一段？

2）、 作者想说明什么？

3）、 作者态度有变化吗？

4）、 这一段细节的作用是什么？

5）、 本段与全文是什么关系？

5、 细节定位需要花时间，总结时要琢磨一下读文章时可以得到什么信息？也就是要想一下文章哪一段要仔细阅读？只有将文章重新读一遍，确定哪一段是回答问题的关键所在。

6、 对推断题进行分类，将答案与原文进行对照。分析错误选项为什么错了？为什么全错了？不要仅仅以“太极端”为理由来解释选项出错，而应做更深入思索，从中找到一些规律。例如：“相关 / 无关”的东西，“态度”。对于目标为730+以上的高分，推断问题是十分重要的。

第二遍阅读总结还没有结束，还需要对主题问题进行分类。例如，理科内容的文章会考什么内容？最重要的就是“现象事实与信息内容间的逻辑关系” 例如A，B，C，D。。。。。。，A导致B，C制约A，D限制B，要能很快从中发现C和D都限制B，只有A导致B。这就要记住这些信息内容间的“要么制约，要么导致”逻辑关系，不需要复杂化，简单而言，就是“支持与不支持”。不需重新定位，这就足够排除最混淆的答案。

对于文科内容的文章，要特别注意列举的信息。

对于经济和管理方面的文章，要特别注意推理顺序和支持与不支持的关系。通过总结，很容易形成这种明确的感觉。至此，第二遍总结才结束。

对于第三遍总结，要完成下面这些工作：

1、 因为对文章已经比较熟悉，不需要看问题就可以找出所有答案出处，要思考一下，这些内容会出什么样的问题。

2、
  完成阅读后，用中文（或英文）写一个大概内容，就象在写机经。写的时候不要读文章及问题。这样做的目的是明白我们忘记的内容，锻炼提高记忆能力。每一遍文章，五个问题，问题的关键点，最终你将有助于记忆更多的文章内容。文章内容记忆越多越清楚，作题所花时间就越少，不断练习以掌握针对阅读的技巧。这些就是阅读总结的全部步骤了。

3、
  完成概要写作后，试着回答这些问题“为什么。。。”，试着运用一些已经总结出来的规则如，“相关/不相关”，“与态度相一致或不一致”。。。

第二遍总结要注意在一天内读尽可能多的文章，读的越多，对阅读越有感觉。

然后是阅读也是看Jinni提高的具体怎么提高的我也说不上来 我的感觉就是水到渠成 我的过程是很痛苦的 因为是一下子从50%提高到80%+的 我之前几个月 一直都是50% 没有怎么波动过 就是九月 有天 我睡觉起来 做题 阅读一看感觉就不一样了
    

以前是逐字逐句的看钻每个句子每个词的意思 但是开窍了之后就是看大概 抓主线 作者主要是想说个什么主要问题 抓住了主要问题 一般阅读就基本解决了 因为问的细节题主要还是针对主题的细节是为主题服务的

Report-Nice weather in HK today !!! Just back to Office to work !!! Planning to review the GWD questions during lunch time !!! and start GWD-CD6 after work and review the questions afterwards !!! add oil CDers !!! (9am)

(12pm) Lunch Time starts !!! Revise for the GWD---SC---- previous GWD SC what i did... i found that repeating to review SC is pretty imortant... like many NN said... everyday sparks ur feel on the GMAT !!! 

Report- review for 20SC questions... feel that SC (the method of using first 3 and last 3 words are pretty useful) ;    CR- revise for the Strengthen and weaken questions !!! still feel very confused especially that involved with the calculations like (Tax for cigarettes, teacher-student in the public-funded school) !!  

I am struggling on how many annual leave i will apply for my exams... quite an headahce coz i will use up all my annual leave up till year 2006 !!!

Sunshine in Hong Kong !!! Weather report realises a bit earthquake last night !!!  Time to start office work !!!! Feel that CR is still the weakness part after reviewing several questions last night... the reading speed is still not fast enough and the short meomory needs to be improved.... Planning to spend more time on CR revision tonight, sat and sun to crack the CR !!!     

Just chatted with a CDer this lunch time, realise that CR premise/conclusion could be read in a log and undertand the sentence as a general impression !!!!  I am really weak in understanding the passage in a general impression and summarises the "impression" in few words... probably have to fight against this through repeat and repeat doing the questions and get the feel of it !!!!

My current Status
            

After doing 7 set of GWD, I have a feeling that my SC has a bit of feeling.... CR struggle to guess the ans...

RC.... reading speed very slow and spend most of my time on the passage reading and locating the ans...

Improvement....   

Just finished the CD7, Sign...... perhaps i am not really talented in GMAT... wrong 17.... overruns with 10mins... perhaps i need to stop doing the GWD... and refer back to OG CR+RC....

For this test, i spent lots of time in RC section

with each question about   2.5-3mins...  

for the last 10questions, i just guess and finish the exams....

CR questions with    calculations , i just guess !!!     need to add oil !!!   have a feel that GMAT is a really hard stuff that difficult to tackle about !!!!

Just had a word with a super NN-Stella, in my case, i am planning to redo OG/DQ questions

SC-----Dai Quan ---- improves accuracy and SC sense... speed and accuracy

RC----- do new passages ---- to improve speed and accurracy

CR ---- just reivew the laywer OG CR to have a clearer picture of the CR analysis

in my case, go back to OG which is the fundamental of GMAT........   i guess these days i have spent all my effort on GWD and spend less time on reviewing OG questions... time for me to review both OG fundamental and GWD together in order to get the "feeling of OG-----GMAT"...

Today, my task is to review the OG CR questions of strengthening and weakening !!!

after that, need to review some of the OG RC questions.

Have reviewed part of the OG questions of both SC, CR and some RC....

RC----feel really dizzy after doing the RC questions...   Long passage.. 1 mins to read through the passage

CR---- feel that OG CR questions are less difficult compared to GWD.. haven't done og-CR for a long long time.

SC---- review for the Bai Yong book.... have a feel that i have forgotten many grammatic knowledge...

Suddenly, i realise that if u feel tired after studying for several hours, that's not the worst things in which you cannot study any more, it is the best situation that u can train your ability in the exams condition that you are working at this condition other than after sleeping for 10 hours condition.. this is the condition that reflects my real condition.. feeling dizzi is a good condition to learn !

Today, I realise that there is a tactic as well as a practice skills that you can redo the GWD set questions.. and get the feel of how the fast pace looks like.. and u would have tremendous achievement though u already knew the answers.. but u can the feel how do u mean for the NN feeling that u already knew the questions ans.. feeling... just the feeling... and with the feel less wrong ans... the feeling is like playing VIDEO games that are my favourite during kids such as Nitendo  "Car Racing and Mario"..  

I also realsie that the fact that "Fear" is another salient for wrong answers.... u kept reading the questions again and again or reading the questions in a really long period of time but in fact, it doesn't make any use for the exams, for one thing, time is limited and on the other hand, it would affect ur short term memory as ur brain is too dizzy and will forget the information if the time gets longer !!!
