kellogg 今年的TOFEL waiver政策是不是针对我们中国学生的？因为据我一个朋友发信询问的结果，说是一部分学生英文不好，所以才改的政策。请问这个是不是说明今年kellogg对中国学生的英文水平有疑问？请问你了解这个政策改变背后的原因吗？多谢了。Kellogg本来是我今年申请的首选，现在因为托福考试，我不得不重新考虑申请的优先学校。不胜感激。

From my understanding TOFEL is still needed. You can check the website again. Usually for TOEFL waiver, the school will explain the requirement for waiver.

I don't think Kellogg has concern on Chinese students' English. Kellogg has a lot of opportunity to evaluate applicants' English via interview, T/G and essays. If Kellogg has concern, it would not admit the applicants.

So my suggestion is to stop guessing and check the website again. If you have any Q's, pls shoot emails to Adcom directly. I'm not sure what your friend had asked, so I cann't give you a clear answer. Sorry!

I have been checking Kellogg's website for a while. I am a little confused by the concept of 1 year MBA program...I am currently a product manager at a F500 marketing firm in Canada, and I had my BBA degree at one of Kellogg's allied business schools in Canada. The 1year MBA program seems to be perfect for me, as it saves the time, money, and of course opportunity cost. However, if I plan to change my career (from marketing to consulting) and return to China, would the 1 year program still be the best bet for me? Given that the 1 year program does not have an internship period, would it be harder for students to find a decent job afterwards?

would somebody be able to let us know some insider insights of the 1 year program? is it significantly weaker in terms of career opportunities after graduation?

Your concern is valid. For a career switcher, it is harder to land a job without internship. The 1Y MBA is not for everyone.

It seems GIM is under International Business and Marketing program, I am not sure if I am interested in Management & Strategy major and select this major if admitted, whether I can still enroll in this tour.

You can choose all courses, no matter what major(s) you are interested in.

谢谢而今迈步从头越的回答：忘了交待我的背景，我在美国拿了一个master，3年工作经验, 所以按照以前的要求，应该不用考托福。但是今年，在一个月以前，kellogg改了政策，所有本科教学不是英文的学校毕业的学生都要考托福。只是想知道学校出台这个政策的目的，因为显然只有中国本科不是用英文教学。多谢了，我还是会将kellogg做我的第一选择。

Just some background info:  The GIM trip appears to be an exchange program.  There are GIM trips that go to different countries in the world for one quarter term. 

- Interesting fact is GIM China trips are becoming very popular here in Kellogg.  I believe there's 3 separate trip to China, as opposed to usually one trip per country, just because one trip does not satisfy the huge demand here for China.  But usually people who go to GIM China trips are not Chinese students because those who sign up usually never been to China and just want an Intro to China. 

- Historically about 80% of Kellogg students go to a GIM trip somewhere in the world. 

- You have to pay extra to go on these GIM trips (in addition to the regular tuition) which I hear is around $5,000 extra.  Since I hear you live in hotels during the entire trip and that gets very expensive. 

To answer your question.  I believe anybody is free to enroll into the GIM trip.  I don't think you have to be in a certain major to be enrolled in the GIM trip.  I probably won't because the opportunity cost of not taking classes at Kellogg that quarter is a bit high for me.
