The listening material provide supplement to the passage by citing the opinions of the other faction, the faculty members. The faculty members mainly agree with some points of view of the administrators. However, in some aspects, the opinions of the two factions diverged.
First of all, the faculty group supports the idea that a portion of money should be spent on building more classrooms. However, they refute that the newly built classrooms should be used to enroll more students to the school, because the additional students would make the classrooms remain overcrowded, or even aggregated. They think that new classrooms should be built in order to reduce of the class scale, which is too big for students to study efficiently.
Secondly, they agree that the problem of the seventy-year-old gym. But they think the gym should not be totally obsolete, as the administrators asserted. In contrast, they think it is better to refurbish the present gym and add new facilities to it, rather than build a brand new gym.
Thirdly, they acknowledge that the salary of administrators is ten percent below the national average, but the wage of faculty members is also in the same condition, which also needs to be improved. Instead of proposing a raise of salary, the faculty faction suggested a portion fo the bequest be used to offer more scholarships to students.
