2007 HKUST (香港科大) MBA申请 — 大陆同学答疑

第一轮15号就截止了，但essay还没准备好，如果是第二轮申请能有机会申请到奖学金吗？还是拼命赶第一轮？？

还有一个关于ESSAY的问题请教师兄师姐。HKUST的五篇ESSAY字数都要求在200以内，我觉得很难在这么短的篇幅内添加个人的实例，不知道你们当年是如何处理ESSAY的实例问题的？是泛泛而谈，还是简单地用例子一带而过，还是详细地用例子长篇大论？

我的英语口语能力比较差，工作生活环境完全不用英语，自己寻思着通过学习虽然可以在短期内有一定提高，但是因为没有英语交流的环境，在面试中相比之下就不能顺畅和自然地交流，如果在卡克的情况下，能否夹杂着汉语来交流？

口语在面试中的作用非常重要。一定要多练习。如果你说汉语，可能面试官听不懂

抓紧时间准备Essay。和MBAoffice联系，看看能不能进第一轮。也许晚几天也有可能。

小弟想申请HKUST的MBA课程，请各位帮俺分析, Thank you very much! ;-)

Right now in Canada, plan to be back to China due to personal reasons.

Career Planning: Telecommunication or IT consultanting in big consultanting company.

1) 6 years' senior technology consultant in mobile telecommunication in an international telecommunication company

2) Overseas work experience in the same field as stated in item 1)

3) Low GMAT score: 650 ( if got time, still hope to have another try)

4) Just finished iBT, score is not available yet.

Question:

1) How about the job prospect in Telecommunication or IT consultanting in big consultanting company for HKUST MBA graduates? or What percetage of the HKUST MBA graduates will leave school to work in IT consultanting ? Basically, what's the income prospect at the very begining?

2) For my background, what percetage could be recruited by HKUST?

3) What's the average GMAT and iBT requirement by HKUST?  I hope my GMAT or iBT won't obstruct my application!

Ok, I have realised that the Oral English is the key factor,   so I must to try my best .

As a point of reference, 80% of our admitted candidates obtained a GMAT score within the range between 530 and 690. For TOEFL, a score of 600 (paper test) or 250 (computer test) is considered above average.

2.学费几多银子?

Program fee for the Shenzhen MBA program is paid in installments. Students are required to pay a deposit of HKD20,000 upon their acceptance of our offer before program starts. The rest of the program fee, less deposit, is to be paid in two installments throughout the two-year of study, each at the beginning of the school year.

For intake2006 student, the program fee for the entire 2-year MBA program in Shenzhen is HKD 150,000 after deduction of the scholarship. For intake2007 student, not decided yet.

3.2007年报名截止时间何时啊?

First round Dec 15, 2006

Second round Mar 31, 2006

In my class, there are couple of classmates whose backgroud is just like you. Now these classmates are in the process of application consulting firm. Such as BAH and monitor etc. . Almost all the top tier consulting firms have the recruitment talk here. Next month Watson Wyatt will come.

HKUST does provide a platform to enter into the top tier consulting firm. I want to say the final result does depend on yourself.  UST could not ask the firms to staff you

Forget the GMAT score. It does not matter, considering your background. Prepare the interview and try to jump into the first turn application.
