As one of member from Class 2007, I can provide some stats for our summer internship and partial full-time recruiting info. Four did IB in Hong Kong, four did consulting in top consulting firms in Hong Kong and Shanghai, five did IB/S&T/Equity Research in the US, one did S&T in London, and the rest did PE or corporate finance in Hong Kong or in the US. I can say everyone who wants to find an internship got one.

As far as I know, so far quite a few of us have already got an offer. The full-time recuiting season has just started and we will have a better idea comes January.

看起来形势不错，不是consulting就是finance。

我是理科背景，转学finance，找intern或full-time job 是不是不容易？

还有essay应该如何侧重一下？

It seems that most MBA students from Chicago have the finance or consulting career future with the relevent backgroud before MBA study. I like Chicago very much. But refering to the regular circumtance as I point out, I am doing with IT and my career goal is not finance nor consulting, and I have little finance knowledge and experience, I wonder whether I don't quite fit Chicago's program? and with my background and career goal, should I turn to other shcools which will have more preference on my backgroud???thanks !

please don't be overwhelmed by the number of students who pursue their post-mba career goals in finance or consulting. to some extent, that kind of fact says how i-banks and consulting firms value mba graduates from different b schools. because they want to hire "the best" (or at least they think they do), they recruit tons of people from m7 schools.

我觉得选校的时候也要多考虑学校的地理位置, 比如真是要集中精力做IT的话, 还是看看加州的学校吧, 因为毕竟周围技术型公司多,招聘成本较低,这和学校实力或者学生素质关系不大. 如果你有什么心仪的公司, 而他们也是MBA招聘大户的话, 可以从他们的网站或者HR那里知道他们的重点学校是什么.
