A中的it和BD中的which都有指代不清或者是指代错误的问题，故排除。C和E都挺像答案的。给偶选的话应该会选C吧。因为D中的conceive of... to be..应该不是固定搭配吧，而且最后的那个逗号挺奇怪的，应该不需要吧。

首先，award+sth是个固定搭配，AB可以排除。C中用了定语从句，不如同位语简洁，which的指代也有些歧义吧。而且后面那个long-overdue的主语就产生了歧义，不知道是military award还是medal of honor了，故排除。
