Some urgent help needed. I received my MS in Chemistry in a US institution. On Friday, I got an email from the admissions office, which asked me for official Toefl score, because Chemistry is considered technical degree, and Toefl is only waived for those who received MS or PhD from any non-technical major. Does anybody here have an idea about Duke's definition of non-technical degree/major? I have checked their website but didn't find any explicit information. Does anybody have experience of waiving toefl under similar circumstance? If yes, could you please provide any insight into my case? In general, how do you guys think I should approach the adcom and ask for a waiver? Thanks a lot in advance. |
