问个问题,我申请材料里的resume写得比较简单,主要就是介绍了一下我的教育背景和工作经历,因为觉得一些课外活动什么的都已经在别的材料里有了.

最近因为知道面试是blind的,就觉得这样的一份简历带过去的话就 显得内容简单了。我把一些课外活动的内容又加了进去，使得整个内容更充实一点， 但这样不知道会不会不大好？想听听Duke的前辈们或者正在申请的xdjm们的意见。

I would prepare a full resume, just like the resume you used for job hunting. Make sure all important information is in the resume.

There are tons of website which show you the template of resume, try to search some and learn best practices. Resume is not as important as essays, but a bad resume could definitely kick you out of the game.

雅思成绩出来了(备注：Band6(competent user),Band7(good user)）

总成绩	听力	阅读	写作	口语
6	6.5	6	5.5	6

关于分数，duke没具体说明。只注意到chicago－－The TOEFL iBT minimum score is 104，The minimum IELTS score is 7。

那么，6分申请duke不知道会不会掏银子喂鱼？

Some urgent help needed.

I received my MS in Chemistry in a US institution. On Friday, I got an email from the admissions office, which asked me for official Toefl score, because Chemistry is considered technical degree, and Toefl is only waived for those who received MS or PhD from any non-technical major.

Does anybody here have an idea about Duke's definition of non-technical degree/major? I have checked their website but didn't find any explicit information.

Does anybody have experience of waiving toefl under similar circumstance? If yes, could you please provide any insight into my case?

In general, how do you guys think I should approach the adcom and ask for a waiver?

我以前在他们网站上看到过，有明确说的，non-technical才waive TOEFL成绩。化学是比较典型的technical专业，以实验室工作为主。要不您再向adcom争取一下？

I saw the information too, but chemistry is always considered science major. Anyway, I will contact the adcom.

请教一下，我真的很想去DUKE，但是看了下自己的各方面条件，觉得可能不够。刚考了GMAT690，AWA5.5 觉得很失望，但是实在没有时间在考了。现在申请的时间很紧，还没有考托（以前老托650也过期了）。似乎要放弃去好学学校的梦想，因为马上第二轮就要过去了。总觉得心里很难受，刚辞职，放弃了HSBC 两年多个人理财的工作。请问楼主，觉得我有可能进DUKE么？另外我也是大连的，可不可以介绍大连的同学和我认识？scarletohara1982@hotmail.com    marychenl@hotmail.com   跪谢！！！！

class visit should be open to applicants every day as long as there are classes going on.
