Every dukie drives here. You can live in some apartments such as belmont and walk to Fuqua everyday in about 10minutes. These apartments are also located in the area covered by duke safedrive (you can regarded it as a free taxi provided by university after 5pm).  however, it is better to learn driving at China. Dont worry. Driving here is quite easy.

Pinacle ridge is the cheapest but depends on different style of room. Last year is around 700.  Please add up the inflation.

Alexan Place and Alexan Farm will probably around 900.

补充，this quotation is for 2 bed rooms. The cheapest place should be springfield, but accordind to apartmentrating.com, that place has some problems.
