That should not impact the weight of the interview.  Talking to a second year you might get a more close understanding of Darden life.

Hi, Elm,

My name is David, a second year student here at Darden and a classmate of York's. 

To answer your question, I want to let you know that Darden's SY interviewers are carefully selected through an internal application process, then trained by the admission staff.  I'm sure they are very capable and their inputs have equal value as the admission staffs.  Furthermore, my advice to you is to not worry about who interviews you, or worry about any other factors that you have no control over.  Instead, do your best to prepare yourself for the interview.  Use your time to develop a complete story about yourself and spend time practicing.  That's the only way to increase your chances.

请教,不知政府背景对于Darden有什么优势和劣势,和商业背景的人相比是不是有比较大的劣势.以往Darden有这种背景的人吗?

我现在已经在自己创业了,虽然起点很低.  另外在申请中推荐信是不是很重要,因为在单位领导基本上不会英语.

Business background is not necessarily better than government/public background, this is a business school, where diversified background would be appreciated.

Agree with Steven.  Non-profit is not necessarily a weakness for MBA application.  It depends on how you use it.  On one hand, you are pretty unique comparing all other engineers, markters, sales, and consultant.  But on the other hand, you need to convince them that you are commited to business.

Recommendation letter is very important,  coz its the only thing that testify your quality from a third party.
