I don't quite understand. Bigstone, if you are already a group manager, why do you want to do a MBA?

If I was in your shoes, I would enroll myself to a Part-time MBA program, EMBA.

6 years is still reasonable for MBA.  EMBA at the best programs are usually >= 10 years.

Part-time is definitely worth considering.  You can travel to NYU on the weekends or do an on-line one (Duke/UT/etc).

In fact, I don't want to come US, but when my wife got the offer here, I had to choose stay China, or give up all to start from zero. I heard the EMBA is for high level manager, but I don't think there are many chances to get good positions by EMBA(I will stay US several year to get the working experience and money).

Do you think, in my case, EMBA is stil fitter for me than MBA is?

Thanks.

I see.

I know someone just graduated two years ago and is going to NYU for a EMBA part-time. I look at your experience. You must be around 30 years old. It is a bit difficult to drop everything in China.

Everyone has different path and different interest.  I think you have a good background but you'll most likely to excel on what you feel most passionate about.  I can't tell you which direction to take, figure out what you want for yourself.

BTW, doesn't sound like you've done much homework yet (me neither, hee hee) so stop asking around for what others think and research research and then research somemore!

Money should be the least of your worries.  I won't pick a program based on how much funding I'd get.  You'll make plenty once you get out.

悠闷啥,等你进了再去嘲笑他呗。

批评的是,我正在研究呢。谢谢你的鼓励!

你说money不重要吗?现在我想到学费还头大呢。我感觉没奖学金或能不担保的贷款我还真读不起。

Yeah, 32. I don't feel I am old, but I really hurt by the time flying from my hands, which is part of best time of life. But no choice, since I decided to come out, what I can do is only to go ahead.

Part-time? You mean I find a job first,  then try to apply a part-time?

Could you explain something why part-time is better for me here?  I am not challenging but asking for help?

Thanks.

I am even older than you.

Don't you have a job already?  See if your current company is willing to sponsor (pay for the tuition) you.  That might be the best compromise if you're worrying about money.   It's extremely difficult though, having to work full-time and complete your degree.  Plus, it takes much longer.  If you're worrying about time slipping away, a full-time program or an alternative shorter part-time program (e.g. SDM at MIT) might make more sense.

You can check with MIT and Harvard's financial service office and see if they can provide no-guarantor loans.

Do some basic research first on FT MBA, PT MBA, EMBA, Ph.D, etc. Then think about what YOU want to do in the future, and what kind of degree, if any, that will help you reach your goal.

As to the money part, if you are in the States already, I don't see why you cannot get a cosigner for loan when needed.
