of course,you can take the exam before you get the exact GPA.As far as I know you can not omit this step.When you need fill the Gpa on that test,you can use an estimated scale,The schools know that you report the Gpa yourself,they just use it for reference not as a exact one.When applying,they require you report the official Gpa from your school.So do not worry about that,just use a estimated scale as a substitution.Hope it helps.
