jacqui果然是强。这个例子也证明了即使原句没有Even，正确句也可能有；就像以前有看到一个题目，原句有would，但是正确句没有，是一样的。

同意8楼对"possibly causing..."一句的分析。 Cause本身有名词词性，所以causing 就不能和前后的Reservoir 等名词并列，而成了-ing 分句修饰前面的一个句子。

关于potential 是跟to (be/do) 还是跟as 应该都是可以的，句意翻译出来会有些许不同。一个(potential as )是"作为。。。的potention";一个(potential to )是“(将）成为...的potential)"

在本句中两者都可以说得通。。。
