1.
In several cities, the government is going ahead with ambitious construction p
rojects despite the high office vacancy rates in those cities. The vacant offi
ces, though available for leasing, unfortunately do not meet the requirements
for the facilities needed, such as court houses and laboratories. The governme
nt, therefore, is not guilty of any fiscal wastefulness.

Which of the following is an assumption on which the argument above depends?

A.  Adaptation of vacant office space to meet the government’s requirements,
if possible, would not make leasing such office space a more cost effective al
ternative to new construction.
B.  If facilities available for leasing come very close to meeting the governm
ent’s requirements for facilities the government needs, the government can re
lax its own requirements slightly and consider those facilities in compliance.

2.
Professor A:  We must make a strong moral statement against Country X’s polic
ies. Only total divestment—the sale of all stock in companies that have facto
ries or business offices in X—can do this. Therefore, the university should d
ivest totally.

Which of the following, if true, would be evidence that the university would n
ot be harmed economically if it followed Professor A’s recommendation.

The expected financial return to the university form stocks that the u
niversity could own under a policy of total divestment is approximately the sa
me as the expected financial return form the same as the expected financial.

1, B is right, A would have been right if the not was deleted.

2. type it again

1, B is right, A would have been right if the not was deleted.

2. type it again

No! No! No!

A is the best answer!

2.Which of the following, if true, would be evidence that the university would n
ot be harmed economically if it followed Professor A’s recommendation.

The expected financial return to the university form stocks that the u
niversity could own under a policy of total divestment is approximately the sa
me as the expected financial return form the same as the expected financial.

这里得问题是would not be harmed economically 所以应该找个和其相关得
