答案选E, 这个迷糊了。因为我认为E中的maybe按照新东方的讲解为“口语”比错，况且原文是情态动词may be应尽量保持。B和D用like不好，C对称不好，最后我想选A，但A又没有not - - - but,且so much在那里也挺怪的，请高人指点thanks

我也认为选A,文中用的是not... so much as的结构，而不是not...but结构，that修饰了symptom of another problem.我觉得你给的答案有问题。呵呵

我很同意你的not so much - - - as - - - 的解释，但这个maybe是effectiveness 还是correctiveness的错误啊？

还有，A/E中symptomatic与A中的那个用法到底怎么解释啊，我不知道是用adj 还是n.

E里的symptomatic是与前面的is 连用的

be动词离的比较远，所以是is symptomatic of

由于not 。。。but的并列

be 动词第二次出现时被省略了

A中用的时一个名词性的symptom ，但是就是not so much。。。as不正确

not。。。but应该要概念对等，这里应该用symptom后面加of，然后再把A的用法换一换就最晚美了

而且很明显but前后两个东西不平行，多别扭啊。况且把原文symptom随意改成symptomatic本身就是不对的，因为这两个词用法是有差异的。原文是标准的平行结构，而且我认为它的not so much as的用法完全正确。
