110 Some people prefer to spend most of their time alone. Others like to be with friends most of the time. Do you prefer to spend your time alone or with friends? Use specific reasons to support your answer.
When facing the choice of spending time alone or with friends, different people will present different answers depending on personal experience, personality type and emotional concern. As far as I concerned, although spending time alone has some advantages such as having a private and quite space to relax or study, I think that spending time with friends has more advantages. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.
To begin with, due to the limitation of individual’s time and energy, one can not accomplish everything well. However an effective method to break the limitation is making friends with different education background, from different fields, or from different locations. It is said “ two heads are better than one”, and this certainly applies here. To students the method is a good way to accumulate knowledge or study foreign language. To businessmen, it may often bring some important information which sometimes lead to real orders. To politicians, it also gives a chance to win more supporters.
Next, to escape from pressures of modern societies, Homo sapiens need to make some friends for recreation such as playing games or holding parties. Studies have shown that loneliness often induce some mental illnesses. For example , last month , Nancy, one of my friends, who immigrated to Canada last year, sent me a letter to complain that she felt alone and was afraid of having a sickness of depression. She ascribed the bad condition to the life without friends to communicate. Fortunately, after taking doctor’s advice of making more friends, she feels better now.
In addition, what is also worth noting is that when you spend time with your friends, more or less, you will get chances to know your weaknesses. Usually, one’s tiny weakness are neglected by himself, and in fact , more often, one tend to cover his own disadvantages. However, your friends would like to point our these shortcomings , which are crucial to successful career in some cases.
To sum up, the advantages of staying with friends weighs more than those of staying alone because staying with friends break the limitation of individual’s time and energy, escape people from pressures, and help people to find there weaknesses.
