A few of people can afford to chase such luxurious dream. However, every dream deserves to chase no matter how old you are and what's life status it is. Let me share some thoughts with you for your reference:
- why MBA :
Without knowing your background, I believe that the life of MBA certainly offers a wonderful opportunity for us to open our eyes and to understand how other people live up their life at another end of the world. For the majority of Chinese, the possilbe ways to go abroad is extremely limited. Pursuing MBA provides us an opportunity to expand our life not only for filling knowledge gap but also for seeing another side of life. Given your status, you should lower your expecations of MBA's return on investment, but I do believe it will be an unique experience in your entire life.
- about "super old"
Of course, you belong to very niche age category in any MBA schools. As far as age is concerned, I strongly suggest you to convert your conventional perception of age to positive explanation about age. The side effects of age in application are obvious, therefore you should work out some effective ways to minimize such issues in your application. However, I would think it is more important for you in your heart to believe that you are young and enegetic enough to embrace all challenges in front of you. When you meet a big smile American lady jogging on the street, bringing sunshine vitality, you will feel that the life just starts from 40yrs old.
Everyone will be getting old, however, age should never be a barrier to chase dream if you really believe it is your real dream.
- which school
It is a very tactical question upon clear answers for the above two issues. In my perspective, you are at competitive edge in terms of timing for yr2007 application. You should start to contact with admission offices as to select the best schools that fit you most.
- why not EMBA
EMBA sets up network by natural of its course. The answer whether MBA or EMBA echoes back to why mba. If you are going to open eyes and to give yourself a full time based period to learn structured knowledge, the answer definitely is MBA, vice versa.
To correct everyone's perception, there is no direct connection between age and EMBA. It all depends on what you want.
