Seems to me your main frustration came from your boss. Well, there may be 5am-12am professor in Harvard, there may also be 12pm-5pm professor in Boston Univ. Depends on your luck. Actually I am not sure which one is better for your academic career.
Unlike other majors, one good thing about Business PhD program is that you are funded by the school rather than the boss, normally. Most programs claim to allow customized study for PhD students based on their research interests. Which means you may be able to choose your boss.
But making life's choice is less about boss than about yourself. What is your goal? What motivates you? Where do you see yourself fit in? No real career in life is a walk-in-the-park. Only with true motivation and perseverance can one succeed in anything. If you are daunted by the mountains ahead before the journey begins, then perhaps, you are not ready for the journey yet. |
