if amy has a dog, then according to condition, she must not be lonely.
is this really the problem in the test?
think should be :
People along with dog is not lonely. Amy must have a dog, because she is NOTlonely.

if Amy have a dog, she won't be longly.

Comparing with the parent sentense:

since John is not punished, he must pay tax.

if John pays tax, he won't be punished.
