1833   At the age of 15, William Welch Deloitte becomes an assistant to the Official Assignee at the Bankruptcy Court in the City of London. This was the ideal apprenticeship at that time for a young man with an interest in the rapidly developing field of public accounting.


Deloitte was the grandson of one Count de Loitte, who (as the holder of a position in the household of Louis XVI) had found it…advisable to re-locate from France to England c.1793.


If so, it should be 德鲁瓦特



but people in the states have americanized the pronunciation of many french words.

yap agree. take IKEA as an example, Swedes call it /i'ki:a/ while americans insist that it should be pronounced as /ai'ki:鹅/ and ask Swedes to "correct" ...


sometimes I think it's kind of american arrogance.
