yeah, top school is not in the same meaning of good placement

however, i do hope some one can share ideas on the determinants of placement

I got the information from accounting faculty. Don't talk with Americans who are more practice oriented in accounting. They will definitely recommend you to UIUC, UT.

I don't think you can find it on UIUC's web site. But you do can find the placement info from the websit of Chicago, Northwestern and Stanford, I guess. Look at what shools they place. Accounting is a small field, if they place their student in such schools, that means almost no chances for other candidate at all in that year.

個人背景很一般，大學主修MIS輔修Econ.，GPA 3.5；畢業後念了MS Acct.，兩個學位都是在國內拿的，也許在台灣還算不錯的學校，但知道這兩間學校的美國教授並不多。T253, G750, 5.5。

研究所的畢業論文得過前AA所舉辦的論文獎。研究所期間及畢業後曾參與幾項與美國教授合作的研究專案，之後在國內的研究機構擔任研究員及顧問工作，都是與現在的研究興趣相關。

在上述網頁的PhD Preparation中就可以看到概略的介紹。NYU也有Pre-PhD的program，當初看了非常心動，不過只有美國人可以申請。
