偶觉得不相同，简单来说，n1,n2+V,n2才是句子主语；

（1）architects and stonemason,the maya......

（2）the maya，architects and stonemason......

同意小女公子，n1,n2+V,既然n2作为同位语修饰n1，那么主语当然是n1, V随n1变化，不能因为n2与V靠得近就成主语了

也就是说

不可以转化为:
The Maya, architects and stonemasons built huge palace and temple clusters without the benefit of animal transport or the wheel.

因為benefit of the wheel or animal transport.有可能會讓人誤會是benefit of the wheel transport or animal transport.或 the benefit of animal transport or the wheel

雖然wheel transport 還真奇怪
