HKUST SZ Part-Time MBA Program Q&A

The forum is open I think the SZ PT MBA program is also open.

We are adults and can judge by ourselves. You expect more, you lose more, MBA can't change your life dramatically, it only adds your chance of success,but it does not mean success.

I don't know the difference between the HK and SZ PT MBA program. but I do know a HKUST EMBA graduate and a HK PT MBA program graduate in my company. they don't change their jobs because they served the company for over 10 years. Ironically, I don't observe the mainfest changes within them.

But why we choose MBA program and why HKUST? the problems are asked by your admission officer and you may have your 'standard' answers.You may collect as much as possible informations and make you decision. Maybe you are influenced by others, maybe you have your own mind,anyway,in one word, you have your answer.My answer is I choose the suitable program matching my need.

Think before you act.I know the program is not authenticated by China. but it does not mean the quality is not as good as many 'certificated 'MBA programs in China.Any program has its negative reports in this forum,but we can judge and compare. What use of one pure certificate?

Why so many Chinese high school students rejected offers of Tsinghua and Peking Universities and accepted the offer of HongKong universites? I don't think it's only the attraction of scholarship. If I have kids, I will send him/her to HK or overseas universities.The chinese education system is destorying kids. 

We still have another options : CEIBS,CKGSB,etc....But Do they match your situations now?. Do you have time&money to study in Shanghai,beijing etc. If I'm in Shanghai or beijing ,I will consider other programs above.

BTW,I have reasonable GMAT and TOEFL scores after I was admitted by the program.but Do the scores count much? I was a test taker during my university life and had a high GRE score of 2380.but I know now test score is not the whole life.'Life is not intact without GRE and TOEFL.'inspired by such a sentence, I struggled the test.but now I realize life is not score.Your success is not only related to score.

even the examination content is same as the full time in HKG. 40% roughly courses are required closed book and notes.No Cheating!!! You could image the quality criteria is strict request by school. Anyway once per week is much better than once per month module...easy for you to preview and digest the essence of every subject. Most of HKG students are more hardwork and commitment than mainland student. Believe or not! If you really want to be the qualified executive in first class MNC rather than State-owned and local provite enterprises. HKUST is fit.

Hi guys, i just submitted my application for UST's SZ program, hopefully will get admitted. By the way, the tuition has increase for 2008 intake to HK$165K.

Anyone know that in the degree certificate or transcript will mark "SZ" or "part-time"???

as i know degree certificate and transcript don't mark "SZ" or "part-time" and  is absolutely the same as the one issued to FT students. Please be aware that degree has less than 10% effect on your success according to a study. Don't pay much attention to the degree, experience and your boss's coaching is more important than any degree.
