instead of 是和 rather than 同时出现时不是优先选项，但是并没有说一定不能选，就像在有些时候there be 结构也是正确的一样

而且instead of 之所以不是优先选项是因为它是一个介词词组，而rather than是一个连词，这里e选项中的opposed to 也是一个 介词词组，就不存在哪个有优势了，而且opposed to意思上也不好，记得og上好像有一题说不可以用opposed to 说只能用在两个完全相反的意思上。

contribute / Longman:

1. intransitive

1) contribute to something

2) contribute X to/toward Y

The volunteers contribute their own time to the project.

2. transitive

contribute something

A，伴随结果表达过去事件错；

B，1) 没有动作的agent；2) X pay $7 for the education的被动形式应该是$7 was paid for the educaton，因此B为for which $7 was paid更好；

pay somebody for something

pay money for something

C，the previously $7副词修饰名词错；

个人愚见选D，从错误级别看，E/C不符合习惯用法，B，被动语态的agent错误，应该首先排除；A，chronicle error比D的instead of比较对象不清晰更严重；并且D可以根据contribute money…instead of money的形式，以及逻辑判断是money的比较。

看来大家OG看的都不好.这道题主要考的是突出比较.拿现在的和以前的比.我记得OG里,具体哪道题忘了,有一道题和这道非常类似,解释里就有INSTEAD OF,ALTHOUGH等词用于比较意义的考点.AB中无比较词汇,肯定不对.C中短语用错.E中contribute后少一TO OR TOWARD 的成分.

偶来分析一下 B的for which。

这种用法一般可以还原成：

which XXXX ....... for 这里面, which指代的成分是和for连用的。根据题意，应该是cost for education,也就是说ｗｈｉｃｈ指代education. 类似的用法常见的有 the place in which we are staying is Beijing。 由此可见，比较正确地用法应该是 education for which the students need to bear a cost of 7$ (for).

总结一个规律，就像前面的朋友说的介词+which里面的which是不能充当句子主干的。 但是有一个特例， there are many students, one of whom is my brother. 这里面的whom修饰students,是students得同位语，of whom 可以不用去看他。 这样的句子其实就是 there are many students, and one of them is my brother.
