请大家就我的背景提供宝贵意见

Undergraduate/Chemical Engineering/BeiJing /GPA 3.3-3.5 (not sure), 2000

Two Master Degrees (Statistics/Computer) in a US mediocre university, GPA 3.85, 2000-2003

Started to work in a mid-size consulting company from 2003 July till now (3 years of experience)

Job Title: Data Analyst / Statistician

GMAT: 710  (Gave up re-taking the test since one friend told me that requirement for part time was low )

AWA: 4.5

Going to apply for MBA programs in NWU Kellogg and Chicago GSB, Part time.

Now I am writing my essays and feel hard to come out with a persuasive one, since I am in a average company and gradute school is not in a top tier. Only accomplishments may be a decent GPA and two master degerees within 2 years. (In the first year in US I still majored in Chemical Engineering.) The current job is boring and I consider it a labor work similar to blue collar's. No big achievement in this company till now. Ido have a very good personal relationship with my direct supervisor though.

Another question is that I can get sponsorship from my company, given that I choose a job-related major in my MBA, i.e., Statistics related or Anlytics related, while finance is what I like. My plan is to take a Statistics named major and take as many as finance courses when I am admitted. Now the question is that in which I shoud express my strong interest in my essay, Statistics or Finance? The straightfoward answer is Statistics, I think, however, it is painful for me to express such a motion toward this field. I hate Statistics. The only reason I took it as my major 3 years ago was that it was easy for me to get a job under a depressed economic situation.

BTW, I made some small mistakes while taking GMAT. I felt so bad (lost my pace in the exam) after finishing verbal section (ready to re-take it) and answered some questions wrong in the following survey: wrong graduate date of my under and wrong major of my under (I thought they were asking for graduate school information at that time), which appear in my GMAT official report, damn it.  Will this affect my application? I am afraid that they might thinks of me as not detail oriented,

Any NIUNIU can shed some lights on my situation, either essay or other questions? Thanks and bow!

You can change your profile in the MBA.com and resent it to school.

Thanks, It works. The site is not user friendly and takes me long time to figure out how to save a program in my profile.

Will they have a chance to look at my old one? How should I explain it if they ask why  I send GMAT scores twice?

Hope that they don't care mistakes in current one too much, and I don't need send a new one to them.

Hi, you can just explain to them you are not in good shape that day or due to some mistakes. But I don't think the info other than your scores is critical.

go with what you are really passionate about. its your time and moeny you are going to invest. don't have to package yourself into something you are not. not being admittd for not faking yourself means a MBA may not be right for you. Or even you got in anyhow, you may regret later.

Thanks, I checked kellogg website and it says it is very common for a MBA student to get two degrees. I think I will do that, and a major related major can save me $100k.
