I am so happy to receive the offer from UNC yesterday! My efforts in application are finally recognized. I have very comfortable impression of UNC. I attended UNC information sessions twice. Sherry is so nice! It is a pity that she does not interview me. Alumni like you are very friendly with excellent teamwork. From your posts, I understand UNC much better during my application process. Thank you for your great work!
However, currently my concern is how to arrange $60,000 tuition for visa application? Even I get the visa, how could I pay off the loan? It is a big question. I can't help worrying about it. Maybe I am too conservative.
Hello brad,
For the interview, since I am in Beijing and submitted my application near the deadline of round 2, I had no opportunity to request an interview. I waited till mid January and then got a phone interview invitation. The questions are typical: 1. College study and life, why I choose my college, what activities I participate 2. Why MBA, why UNC 3. Teamwork experience 4. Leadership understanding 5. Volunteer experience 6. What would I say on behalf of the interviewer to support my application... Then I asked several questions. Total 30 minutes. Very pleasant talk. Good luck!
Congratulations!
As of your visa documents, you can talk with people around you. There are a lot of posts in this BBS talking about it. Plan your career before applying for visa. This question is important not only to visa applications.
$60k loan is a big sum anyway. You really should think again whether you want to invest this money and two years in MBA program. Since you got the offer, you can spend more time to talk with people graduated from MBA on this. Whether you really need an MBA? Pros and cons.
To be honest, not everyone find an MBA pay off finally. There are students dropping out every year, in almost every school. Of course, some requested deferral instead of dropping out. I can promise you that they are not leaving the school for academic reasons. So, think about it, make a crispy decision, and then go ahead!
We look forward to receiving you at Chapel Hill in August!
