[求助]崩溃边缘。由OG74检讨做题思路。

第二遍作OG,到74题,两次都作对,但自己做题的思路跟OG一点边都搭不上,几乎可以说是猜对的。

Growing competitive pressures may be encouraging auditors to bend the rules in favor of clients; auditors may, for instance, allow a questionable loan to remain on the books in order to maintain a bank’s profits on paper.

(A) clients; auditors may, for instance, allow

(B) clients, as an instance, to allow

(C) clients, like to allow

(D) clients, such as to be allowingA

(E) clients; which might, as an instance, be the allowing of

The first independent clause of the sentence describes a general situation; in A, the best choice, a second independent clause clearly and grammatically presents an example of this circumstance. Choice B uses as an instance ungrammatically: as an instance requires of to form such idiomatic constructions as “She cited x as an instance of y.” Also, this construction cannot link infinitives such as to bend and to allow. The infinitive is again incorrect in C and D. C misuses like, a comparative preposition, to introduce an example. D requires by in place of to be. E, aside from being wordy and imprecise, uses the pronoun which to refer vaguely to the whole preceding clause rather than to a specific noun referent.

我的思路是:

B,as是连词,但后面不是句子。错。

C,like是介词,但由逗号分开,后面应该是从句。错。

D,such as 应该加名词。错。

E,分号后面应该是独立句,但这里是由which引导的从句。错。

还是无法领会ETS的意思啊。急死我了,考试从预定日期推了差不多3个月了。语法还是不见提高。闷。

高人们来会诊一下吧。

那为什么跟OG的解释完全不一样呢?

自己觉得只有E还贴点边。

楼主更多从语法上判断,而实际考试更多要从结构/逻辑上.个人意见

sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between two kinds of errors. usually, a grammatic error would cause some logic error too, while sometimes not.

例如

A: 分号后是分号前的一个例子.两个句子语法逻辑均没什么错

B:clients, as an instance, to allow:     the second part of sentence, rather than the clients themselves, is the instance, so B wrong.  ETS implies this infomation in the explanation:“She cited x as an instance of y.” though ETS only show the grammar error, the logics is also wrong as a result of it.

the rest is similar, I'm not NN, just start GMAT  less than 2 months, focusing almost all the time on SC. Just like you, I  got  frustrated very often until  this week.  it seems that I've made  some big progress.Focusing on OG is very very critical and effective.  However, I've got much to do with the other parts of GMAT.  Good luck

jxjiao, thx.

已经花了差不多两个月总结了,看来现在只能多做题来提高了。看了GMAT医生的关于感觉的帖子,觉得还是得培养感觉。

maybe the first thing you should do  is to calm down

^_^,是要calm down一下了。最近可能有点压力过大了,考了16,7年试了,从没紧张过。最后时刻毕业考试怯场了,graduate by distinction没了不说,居然我最拿手的financial management差点挂掉。

从前的老板见我就问学得怎么样了,然后满眼的鄙视。md!!!!!!!!!

下午到情缘区看了一下午言情小说,估计应该已经calm down了。
