In this website I have read so many of your threads and I am so familiar with your ID Dukesongyi but i rarely notice that you are the one who responded to my mail without any delay and provided so much guidance. thanks again for your help! It is really so nice to meet you here!

I have submitted my darden application (almost in the last minute of the 2nd round) but I have not successfully arranged for one interview. I hope I can fly from Sri Lanka to India to meet Dean Bruner. Can you give me any suggestions?

If you got chance to meet Dean, it will be great experience. You will get lots of information about the school which will help you in the interview. However, I don't know whether it will influence the admission decision of your interview invitation.

Bottleline is that meeting with Dean will pay off in the long run.  The more you know about the school, the better your decision will be.

Stanhope, I guess they will not arrange interviews on the reception (it is more like a marketing campaign from the school).  However, as far as I know, most of the interviews are done by Chinese alumni and you can always ask them that you submitted the application and want to have an interview.  Try to follow up with them after the reception.  

If you have time, why not just take the opportunity to hear Darden’s new strategy in Asia or China (you will not see US b-school deans visiting China often).  You can mention you were in the reception during the interview, definitely is a plus for your interview, at least adcom can tell you are serious.  Good luck with app

applied two schls in 1st round(Darden&Duke), now admitted by both..



For those who concern a lot on GPA, hope my case can cheer you up a
little - i have an ugly gpa. Seems true that decisions are made on not
any single aspects but the overall package - another reason that i like
US schls. So, forget the weakness which you can not change and
accentuate your strengths.



It seems year 2006 is not bad. good luck to those still waiting, and merry X'mas:-))

As far as i know,4 guys from mainland got admitted by Darden!!!!!!!why no news from lady??? nervous,exciting and expecting!

Maybe the news for round 2 applicants will come out after the Chirstmas holiday?

Dear Alums,

I am a R2 applicant.  I saw on the website of Darden that applicants should be complete their interviews by the deadline, i.e. Jan 12, 2006.  However, the Darden webpage of scheduling interviews seems to be only able to schedule an on-campus interview.  I am an applicant in Beijing and if I can not go to Darden to have an interview, could I just schedule an alum interview or phone interview? How?  Or is Darden's interview for international applicants  by invitation only?
