I fully agree with above statement. In fact, I had some problem with the career service. The previous manager's performance was not satisfactory, but at least, she managed to find us job or internship opportunities at the best of her capacity. The current manager is definitely not doing anything better. I am not saying he did not do his job, however, it is indeed a matter if what he did is not what the students want. For instance, offering many so called "opportunities" online, or keeping on saying that students should try their best to find opportunities themselves, should not be the attitude from a career service manager. If most of students land their job on their own, the career service office might be no more necessary as it does not function as what it should be. Eventually, from my personal point of view, what students need is interactions with potential employers, with a strong back up from school. Therefore, an experienced and resourceful manager does make a difference in terms of helping business school become the top notch school in the region. Unfortunately, this is not the case for the school at the moment. I hope my information does not hold you back. It is still a good school, with its great reputation locally and internationally. If the school can get a great career service manager who knows what should be done the best for the student, it will change the image of school more positively to a great extent. |
