P1: Mercury has a partially liquid core. A new perspective on planetary formation in the solar system.
P2: Scientists predict a solidified core, contrary to the warmth generated by its formation. However, 1974 Mariner prompted a reevaluation -> New theory: magnetic field could be crustal relic from when the core was fluid.
P3: J and S used radio waves to analyze Mercury’s rotational variation -> S theorized the presence of liquid core. But in fact it’s molten outer core.
P4: D asserted that Mercury is not entirely solid. The molten state is theorized to result from sulfur’s presence in the core and Mercury may have a more complex material exchange in planetary formation.
