分享两个我觉得面试过程中最challenging的点
1. Why school
我回答这个问题一般就是聊聊Faculty Fit, 看看这个学校有什么很强的地方，比如资源之类的, 大部分时候我说完几点Interviewer就点头过下一个问题。但有的学校会继续刨根问底, 质问我到底为什么要去他们学校，其他学校(如recommender的学校)也有很多这样的好faculty好资源, 你为什么不去他们那些地方？
所以为了预防遇到这种问题时回答不上了, 朋友们记得准备的时候多找一点非这个学校不可的理由，最好能问问一下内部人员(比如你的recommender, 他们学校的学生)了解这个学校自己最自豪的是什么

2. Your research interests
很多时候我说一个大概的research idea, interviewer就点头了(e.g.: I want to examine the impact of A on B)。
但也有很多faculty会对你进行刨根问底，如:

• Why do you interest in the relationship between A and B
• How do you think A impacts B? What is the mechanism underlying it? Give some examples
• If you have the perfect dataset to test the idea, what will be the variables in the dataset and how will you use them?
• What is the current literature and gap in this field you are interested in?
  

所以朋友们准备的时候记得想清楚一点呀
