[Main Idea]
Narrative the phenomenon of the failure of toughened glass, expain the reason of the failure, and try to prevent or find remedy.
[Structure]
P1-P3 (What happened? Is it a problem? )
P1: Phenomenon -- toughened glass fell from the roof without warning.
Reason -- nickel sulphide inside the glass.
P2: Evaluation of the phenomenon:
Chairman of the glass trade association -- very rare.
Engineering consultants & experts -- lots of cases.
P3: The advantages of toughened glass make us use the glass a lot. (If it's so dangerous, then yes, it's a problem.)
P4-P7 (Explain the reason why the failure exists.)
P4: The production process of toughened glass.
P5: Which step in the process will cause problem.
P6: How would the crystals become problem.
P7: The problem occurs unpredictably, e.g. 27 years later.
P8-P10 (Could we prevent that from happening? Or is there any remedy?)
P8: The problem is almost impossible to find.(difficult to prevent)
P9: Example of WP -- 80 panes shattered, and then JB analysed every glass pane.
P10: That cost too much money and time. (not a good idea)
