之前的状况：外部的供应商为了和汽车制造商持续合作而产生的激烈竞争和内部供应商的悠然自得形成鲜明的对比，内部供应商通常有无限的合作期，而外部的只是短期。

II.自1980汽车制造商开始向一个完全不同的供应关系系统发展：和外部供应商的合作变长且信息交流充分，减少内部供应商的业务甚至有时直接不给业务。

III.供应系统改变在几方面是令人惊讶的：
⑴首先，汽车制造商*愿意放弃对其外部供应商的垄断权 --- 违背经济逻辑
⑵其次，当行业的技术和市场结构都处于变化之中时，垂直整合的减少与组织理论家的预测相矛盾
