Spending on research and development by United States businesses for 1984 showed an increase of about 8 percent over the 1983 level. Clearly, the 25 percent tax credit enacted by Congress in 1981, which was intended to promote spending on research and development, did little or nothing to stimulate such spending.

The conclusion of the argument above cannot be true unless which of the following is true?

(A) Business spending on research and development is usually directly proportional to business profits.

(B) Business spending for research and development in 1985 could not increase by more than 8.3%.

答案是D

我不解的是(D) In the absence of the 25% tax credit, business spending for research and development after 1981 would not have been substantially lower than it was.

这里的NOT是不是应该没有的，多余了。没有NOT 就好解释了，：如果没有25%的tax credit，business apending 就会更低。

简单概括原文

evidence：至1980年-1984年来，商业科技投资比率越来越的

conclusion：国会颁布的25％税率的（用来刺激商业科技投资的）信贷并没有起作用

问题：The conclusion of the argument above cannot be true unless which of the following is true?文章的结论不能成真 除非 下面那个为真？

D：In the absence of the 25% tax credit, business spending for research and development after 1981 would not have been substantially lower than it was.

去掉not，当没有25％税率信贷的时候，1981以后的商业科技花费会相当大的比以前低。说明有信贷之后，科技花费不比以前的低，是起了刺激左右的，weaken了结论说信贷没有刺激花费的作用。

所以是一个assumption直接支持了结论

楼上的妹妹，看了你的解释后，我恍然大悟，原来我的理解好像出现了错误，没有把题目读清楚，或者说钻了牛角尖

题目的要求应该就是找支持结论，25%的信贷没有起作用

D的意思就是如果没有25% ，就不会那么低了

周末过去了，原定的任务没有完成，只是搞定了OG的RC ，语法还没有搞定

其实时间是充足的，但是总是不能做到心无旁骛，一会儿去弄弄那个，一会儿那个

原来计算着到12月可以去考试了，现在看来似乎不可能了

计划总是赶不上变化，总结出来，最主要的是没有能够很好的执行计划，感觉好失败阿
