Question about word limit of Kellogg's essay

The requirement says "one or two pages, double spaced", that would basically limit the number of words at around 650 ( based on discussion in the Kellogg essay thread ).

However, I've been reading two MBA application books, "Accepted - 50 successful business school admission essays" and "How to get into the top MBA programs". All the Kellogg admitted essays I've seen in these two books exceed this word limit. Some have as many as 1200 words. I believe limitting the essay length at 650 words would put the essay in a disadvantageous position

Is here any Kellogg students? How much did you write in your essay?

you have to make sure the samples cited in the books followed which year's word limit.

i once asked an adcom member this question, her reply was like you have to use your judgement, but to consider double space, two pages, using 11 or 12 sized times new roman font, i guess 600-700 is acceptable.

change the margin of the page. you can fill in a lot more words by doing so.

Is there any Kellogg student here? any advice?

Seems Kellogg is not very popular here? Does it have a strong alumni network in Asia, especially China? I am currently a marketing analyst in a US credit card company, I'd like to go back to China once graduate from b-school to work in consumer lending industry ( I will start in big name consulting firms in China first, I think ), , I guess I picked Kellogg because its strong marketing program. I will visit Kellogg later, but any thought if Kellogg is a good fit for me?

I am also planning to apply to Wharton.

Writting essay is such a pain, how can I write my education, career, goal and why MBA, why this school in just 650 words? Kill me suan lah....

Fortunatley, you do not apply for HBS. Otherwise, you have to kill yourself many times. You must do what you said in 400 words.
