Wharton Round one, interview invitation received

感觉大家越说越激动了。"the worst MBA student among top schools"，也不至于偏激到这个程度吧？前面很多帖子都讨论过MBA到底能给你带来什么。一个人的能力，尤其是一些softskills，不是通过两年MBA学习就能把你彻底改头换面的，不管你去哪个学校。

LZ也是学化学的（我还没有那么登峰造极，只是读到了Master就不再浪费时间了），我想对于我们来说，读MBA最重要的就是一个系统的business学习的过程。Personality方面的修养，几十年的生活，几年的工作，基本该是什么样的就是什么样的了。就比如leadership style，你是一个谦逊的人，不会因为去HBS两年就变得很tough。你是一个很自以为是的人，也不会因为在Fuqua呆了两年就彻底成了一个很好的team player。

好像海边捡贝壳，不管去了哪个学校，捡到自己想要的贝壳就可以了。如果你想要的贝壳就是和与自己风格相近的人在一起呆两年，你觉得Wharton的学生都不对你胃口，你选择别的学校好了。何必委屈自己冲着Wharton的排名就去申请呢？然后再来这里贬低自己的选择，有点搬石头砸自己的脚的感觉。

PS：站在一个申请者的角度，从CD上Wharton,Chicago,Tuck..等学校的学生积极耐心地给大家解答疑问这一件事情来说，我就有理由相信他们都是“热心且正直“的人。读MBA那么忙，你能做到吗？我想不是每个人都能做到的。因为项目关系，也曾经和Wharton的一个教授接触多一段时间，还面对面聊了几个小时，至少我看到了Wharton的这些教授身上人性化的一面，他非常友好，提出的见解和建议可以明显感觉到他不但有丰富的理论，而且有非常多的公司运作的经验，否则不会对具体的事务和可能遇到的问题考虑得那么周到。这些，是我希望能够从将来的教授身上学到的某一部分东西，所以我选择去申请Wharton，即使我也同样相信Wharton必然有不足的地方，和其他商学院一样。

其实WHARTON一直都是最顶尖得MBA PROGRAM之一, 这点无需怀疑, 没必要故意踩一脚来证明自己牛, 这样有点显得过于幼稚了

何况还只是INTERVIEW阶段, 没必要这么狂得忘乎所以吧

PS:COLUMBIA得CHEMESTRY很强吗? 怀疑....

Wharton is not as good as we imagined...I know many wharton alumni in my banking work, finding that they are not as good as i thought, both professionally and personally.

Wharton is friendly to china and with a high ranking but the Chinese people it admitted were not always good.

I knew some Lan Ren admitted by Wharton...To be honest, i feel ashamed of studying with those guys in teh same school

Fudan is a very competitive place and I am still missing there. In 1994 when I entered Fudan, we had to fight hard for all the tests and exams. I can still recollect those summers and Spring festivals when I spent time on campus reading, preparing and suffering for GRE and TOEFL. Our department (chemistry) had 138 students and only two students came to the States in 1998 immediately upon graduation (can't compare that with USTC or Beijing U, right?..:-), I went to Columbia and the girl went to UCLA. Frankly, I personally don't think Fudan is particularly good in terms of that, but it's certainly a place that I will never forget in my life,  never and ever, no matter where I am, both in the US and in China.

To answer the last question, I joined Merck immediately upon my Ph.D graduation from Columbia in 2003.

----if so ,then tell me which school student has the quality in your measurement? if that be the case, why we still work so hard to strive MBA !!!!!????? Come on!!!!

I am not going to apply wharton yet,but still believe wharton students are excellent!!! If you don't think so, I assume you could be too perfect to go for MBA!!!!!! then give up your decision ,why wast time here? ( also for realize, )

有必要争这个吗？有人觉得wharton的学生差，有人觉得不错，都是个人观点。不能说，别人说wharton的学生差就是“狂”。也许他自己的经历让他得到这样的观点。觉得某个MBA program的学生差也可以申请啊，他可能有别的concern啊。再说，学生差，不代表这个program差。

haha,大家居然从apprentice想到那么多。其实第二季里面也有个wharton的还是不错的，只不过是队友排挤掉了。没有必要从一个电视剧联想到那么多，就像你不会因为清华有人淋硫酸到熊身上去而不去报清华一样。
