In 1990, the country of ZYX had very poor living conditions in rural areas. Only 45 percent of rural inhabitants had access to clean water, but by 2005, more than 70 percent of rural inhabitants had such access.
-->Clearly, the country has made many effective improvements in its rural infrastructure. 判斷
Which of the following statements about ZYX between 1990 and 2005, if true, most weakens the reasoning above?
(A) Living conditions in the cities have improved much more substantially than they have in rural areas.(無關比較)
(B) Living conditions in rural areas have been improved by other infrastructure projects besides projects providing increased access to clean water.(跳脫主題)
(C) The standards for clean water have not changed substantially since 1990.(支持)
(D) Many cities in ZYX have experienced substantial population growth as rural inhabitants move to cities in search of work.(分母減少,數值上升)
(E) More than 90 percent of the inhabitants in the cities of XYZ have access to clean water.(無關)

In an experiment, one group of volunteers were shown words associated with money, such as “salary”, whereas another group was shown neutral words. Afterwards, individuals in both groups solved puzzles unrelated to money. Those who had been shown words associated with money were much less likely to request or offer help with the puzzles. The researchers concluded from this evidence that preoccupation with money makes people less cooperative. 判斷
Which of the following is an assumption the researchers reasoning requires?
A At least some of the volunteers were preoccupied with money before being shown the words.(違背前提)
B Being from the neutral words did not cause the volunteers to become preoccupied with subjects other than money.(否定支持)
C Most of the volunteers who were shown neutral words requested or offered help with the puzzles.(否定weaken)
D Most of the volunteers in both groups succeeded in solving the puzzles, either with or without help.(重述前提)
E The volunteers who were shown neutral words were, on average, less preoccupied with money while solving the puzzles than the other volunteers were. (another group 說不定有別的group)

建议第二题选E,搭桥。看到词的性质与参与者是否preoccupied with money这两个概念不能直接对等。
且C选项取反之后应该是:few of the volunteers who were shown neutral words did not request or offer help with the puzzles. 即便如此取反,也不能削弱原文。
因为原文条件已经说明了看和钱相关的参与者“were much less likely to request or offer help”,可能性已经明确清楚了。
