Yang Yi, a female comedian, won the verted title of “Punchline King title” in the hite series “Rock & Roast”, with an outpouring of support on Chinese social media. The Chinese stand-up industry has been slowly growing since 2016.

As in many countries, the female comedians in China only make up a small portion of the comedians in the comedy industry. These female comedians are generally very outspoken to discuss gender issues through stand-up jokes.
