Some updates about Xiaohui from Chinese Friendship association.

Dear All,
Thank you for all the suggestions. We are so touched and amazed how people responded to this event, how much everyone has dedicated to it, and how obliging and considerate our community is. Here are some updates for everything &CFA will try to update at least once per two days:
1 Xiaohui: Xiaohui's condition has stablized for now. it has neither improved nor gotten worse. Please continue to keep Xiaohui and her family in your thoughts and prayers.
2. The family: Xiaohui's family has met with the Head of the Food Science Department and the Associate Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences this morning. The Department and the College have assured Xiaohui's family that they will provide as much help as they can.
Xiaohui's family has also met with the Director of the International Student Services, Dr. Negar Davis! . The ISS provided the most updated information to the family about health insurance, and provided an advocate to assist the family in regard to lodging, meals and transportation.
We have several volunteers who are accompanying Xiaohui's family as campus guide and translator by turns. We still need more volunteers to help the family on campus. PLEASE DO CONTACT XIAOQIANG XIAO (see below) IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HELP.
3. Lawyer & Police report: Our NY Consulate and the ISS office will provide helps on legal issues and recommend candidates. There are many warm-hearted friends like Gloria who are contacting their lawyers and helping on this issue. The family also had some contacts with attorneys. Thank you very much for all the inputs and please kindly keep sharing your suggestions if you have any. (The police report is still unavailable at this moment and may take several more days).
4. News Covery: The Collegium and The Central Daily Time are following up the event. New coveries may be reported on today's paper (2/14/2006, Tuesday). Our public relationship representative Nan Yu is working on an article (both in Chinese & English). Once article is confirmed and approved by Xiaohui's family, we may have it published. Hopefully, the article will be available by tonight(2/14/2006).
Once the particle available, please help us to spread the article with our online donation account link(paypal account ) to any forum and bbs that you can reach, and please help us to print them out and stick to your department/apartment bulletin boards. We need more hands and thank you in advance.

6. Donations & the beloved communities: The Penn State Community as well as our Chinese community are such great communities that we can count on. Within merely two days, we have received donations from many peoples and really don't know how to thank you enough.

b) All the Checks will be deposited into a sub-account of CFA specially created for Xiaohui, which is supervised by the Penn State HUB administration committee(HUB Room 240). Address information for donation can be found on www.psucfa.org.
c) A paypal account (on-line donation) has been set! up with the help from State College Chinese Alliance Church (SCCAC). It is open to Penn State Community now! We may need one more day(2/14/2006) to test this account before we spread it out to the public outside Penn State. SO PLEASE DO NOT POST THE PAYPAL LINK TO ANY NON-STATE COLLEGE FORUMS UNTILL 2/15/2006 (WEDNESDAY). Thank you for your kind cooperation.

Acknowledgement for the Paypal Account:
Upon the request of Penn State Chinese Friendship Association, as a registered organization in the US, State College Chinese Alliance Church (SCCAC) has agreed to open a dedicated checking account in the bank to accept donation for Ms. Xiaohui Xia and her family through PayPal. All the donation received through PapPal will be directly transfer! red to Ms. Xiaohui Xia and her family. Ms. Xia or her family have the full right to decide how to use the donation regardless of the outcome of the injury. CFA and SCCAC serve only as the agents to transfer the donation. CFA and SCCAC do not receive any money or benefit during the process of the transactions. Please be aware that PayPal will charge roughly 3% of your PayPal donation as the transaction fee.
