来自官方模考第5套，不明白此处为什么可以用过去分词修饰名词

明白了为什么用were investigating 和其他选项错在哪，但是不明白为什么D选项中ferried可以直接修饰volunteers，如果用过去分词修饰名词的话不是应该表示被动含义吗？可是此处志愿者渡轮到这个倒是是主动的，为什么可以用Ferried 修饰呢？ 求各位NN帮忙解答。

所以到底是修饰自愿者还是盒子呢？ 修饰自愿者也不可以是that把。 这里是跳跃修饰？
就算是who,那么也不是被动吧！

...虽然隔了很久，但也许会有人（像我？）翻到这里的时候有疑问；
可以看下牛津词典里ferry的用法，这里用的是ferry sb,

1. ferry ab 用车/轮渡载...
-The children need to be ferried to and from school.孩子们上学放学需要摆渡。
-You really don’t have to ferry us around while we’re in town.我们在城里时，你真的不需要用车接我们到处逛。

在这个句子里面，志愿者是被摆渡出岛的（同例句1），因此要用被动的形式。
'boxes erected by volunteers (that were) ferried out to island...'
