求助：倍数比较的一些表达方式

以前高中老师讲过三种倍数的表达方式如下:

• 倍数表示法：．．．times as +形容词原级 + as．．．；
  ．．．times + 形容词比较级 + than．．．；．．．times the + 性质名词 + of．．．。
  The dining hall is three times as large as that one.
  The dining hall is three times larger than that one.
  The dining hall is three times the size of that one.
  
  但是我看到有同学说：”The man is five times older than his grandson" 这样的表达是错误的，应该是“The man is five times as old as his grandson."
  
  请问倍数的表达方式在gmat中是怎样的呢？？
