另外，从逻辑意思，此处只能由instead.

所以，理应为B

应该选B，理由有两个：

第一，INSTEAD OF 是 而不是的意思。 INSTEAD 是反而的意思。如果选INSTEAD OF 逻辑意思不同，FUND MANAGERS 两中行为都没做。实质上按照题目意思 ，他们做了其中之一。

第二，BE EAGER TO 应该更 合乎语法吧。请指正！

我认为选a.在longman中查了，instead如果单独用，一般形式为...,instead,...或者放在句尾，之后没有任何词。本题这两种情况都不是，应该是instead of doing的用法。没有instead doing.下面是longman的例句：

Can I have soup instead of salad?

Gillespie will play in midfield instead of Cochrane.
