37 do you agree and disagree with the statement: progress is always good.

As a famous proverb goes, every coin has two sides, progress doubtlessly bestow people civilization and wealth, however it has also brought many side effects. I will hereby elaborate some of them to illustrate that progress is not always good.

For one thing, the more progress we make, the more serious pollution is. With the development of industrialization, factories produce much waste in the process of manufacturing including poisonous gas and polluted water. Autos and other vehicles on the one hand, facilitate people’s travel, on the other hand, release a lot of unburned fuel gases directly into the sky. People also throw out more plastic rubbish that cannot be decomposed by microbes accompanied with the upgrade of life standard. As a result, environment undertakes too much pollution which cannot be digested by itself and people may finally get punished for our own irresponsible progress.

For another, the progress of human beings also threatens the living conditions of many wild animals. People have expanded habitats year over year and driven wild animals into small corners of the earth in which they cannot find enough food and fit in the environment well. Some of them have even died out. Yet wild animals are indispensable parts of the life circle and hence, are friends of us human beings. Without them, our living conditions will also become worse. Although many governments already begin to establish reserved lands for animals, it is still a long way to go and we cannot afford the result of the extinction of many animals.

In addition to the above aspects, progress sometimes even hurt ourselves. With the progress of modern society, competitions among different people are more and more fierce. In order to keep up with the fast rhythm of modern life, people have to study and work under great pressure and may feel very tied and frustrated. However, this is somewhat opposite to what we want: a quiet and happy life.

Of course, we cannot deny many obvious benefits progress has bestowed us including abundant substance and modern technologies. Nevertheless, in above mentioned cases, progress does bring side effects.

In conclusion, it is too hasty to judge that progress is always good because it could deteriorate pollution, threaten the living conditions of wild animals and ironically, hurt ourselves with too much pressure.

2，个人感觉你能写出了不少有难度词汇，可是用的不是很地道。文章读起来觉得不流畅，好像你在努力使句子复杂。缺少连词。比如：In order to keep up with the fast rhythm of modern life, people have to study and work under great pressure and may feel very tied and frustrated.
