说说我的理解：

Making things even more difficult has been general market inactivity lately, if not paralysis, which has provided little in the way of pricing guidance.原句分解：
Main Clause: Making things even more difficult (X) has been general market inactivity lately (Y).
Dependent Clause: general market inactivity lately (Y) (which) has provided little in the way of pricing guidance (Z).

第一个疑点是which作为Relative Pronoun修饰什么？which一定要修饰就近的noun，即paralysis （瘫痪）。这么写让句子意思illogical，因为paralysis不会provide little in the way of pricing guidance, 而是provide nothing.

Inactivity vs. Paralysis in the Real Estate Market
Paralysis应该是real estate市场测地冻结; 而general market inactivity只是市场不活跃。比如, 一个冬天某个city只有三栋房子成交，这是inactivate，而paralysis是没有一栋房子成交（那样的话，因为没有参考价格，seller不知道自己的房子在市场上的价格）。

从meaning层面考虑，which这个从句应该是想修饰general market inactivity (which provides LITTLE ...)，然而which的用法导致ambiguity.

第二个疑点是lately到底modifier什么adjectives or verbs. 从meaning上理解，应该是general market inacitivity makes things even more difficult LATELY. Lately虽然放在句尾，但是it modifies make.

D的meaning非常清晰：Making things even more difficult LATELY, general market inactivity, [if not paralysis], HAS provided little in the way of pricing guidance.
Making things ... 作为adverbial modifier修饰整个main clause： Because general market inactivity has provided little in the way of pricing guidance, this event makes things even more difficult lately.

我的理解：
Making things even more difficult has been general market inactivity lately, if not paralysis, which has provided little in the way of pricing guidance是一个倒装句，实际语序是General market inactivity has been making things more even more difficult，所以OG解释说在这句话中，making things even more difficult是宾语。OG认为原句中if not paralysis和主语general market inactivity隔得太远（中间隔了一个lately），所以把making thins even more dfficult作为一个modifier，让主语和if not paralysis可以直接对比（紧跟在一起）。句子就变成了Making things even more difficult lately, general market activity, if not paralysis, has provided little in the way of pricing guidance.
