嗯嗯，a中的of several hundred 我感觉是修饰colonies，因为跳跃修饰是不优选项，但不代表不能选，主要结合语义看看~~~

搞不明白为什么 colonies 可以have many queens  它可以拥有吗！！

第一遍看过去，语法正确，没什么大毛病，先放着。
B) of several hundred, often with many of them being queens as well as having
often with 表达awkward，然后看到了万恶的having。
C) having several hundred, and often many of them are queens as well as
万恶的having，明显不如that have表达准确。而且后面加上了and，似乎想表达平衡，但是并没有。
D) that have several hundred of them, often with many queens as well as
B live in colonies that have..., often with...as well as...乍看上去也没有语法错误，先放着。
E) with several hundred that often have many queens as well as having
with可不可代替of不知道，但是句子后面又出现了having。


所以第一遍读下来，就剩下选项A和D。


A：Bumblebees live in colonies of several hundred that often have many queens as well as a large number of workers
D：Bumblebees live in colonies that have several hundred of them, often with many queens as well as a large number of workers


先把主谓宾拎出来


B live in colonies of...that have X as well as Y.

现在看就很清楚，A的表达简洁、有效，D里面有often with这个表达奇怪的术语，把that have...故意用逗号断开，加了一个修饰，是不必要的。所以还是选A。

之前也错选了D，现在想到了如何区别A和D。从句子结构来分析，A选项是colonies+两个修饰成分，一个是介宾短语，Modifier1（of several hundred），一个是that从句，Modifier 2（that have many queens as well as a large number of workers），表达的句意是：说明了colonies的两个属性：其一，数量上有数百个；其二，这些聚落同时居住着许多蜂后和工蜂。短的修饰放在长的修饰前面。接着看D选项，注意have的位置变了，放在several hundred of them 前面，首先，them指代不清，如果是colonies，句意上不通，不能说某物有几百个某物。如果是Bumblebees，句意依然不优，B蜂住在有着数百只B蜂的聚落里。后面的often with有就近修饰them的嫌疑，而按照原本的句意，应该修饰的是colonies

我觉得A的of several hundred是colonies的后置定语，that跳跃修饰colonies。很tricky了，因为有种引导做题的人把several hundred往修饰bumblebees的方向的嫌疑。
