第一篇：44 Some people like to travel with a companion. Other people prefer to travel alone. Which do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your choice.

When it comes to the choice of traveling with a companion or traveling alone, people may have different preferences. Some people enjoy the freedom of traveling alone, while others find it’s more convenient and safe traveling with a companion. In my opinion, traveling with a companion in most cases is a more favorable choice for the following reasons:

First, traveling with a companion is safer and more convenient, especially in remote areas. As a stranger to the destination, the traveler would from time to time encounter with various difficulties and problems such as being confused with directions and routes or not understanding the local languages. Upon such occasions, the companion might well compensate your experience and ability, not to mention the psychological sense of security the companion provides during the crisis.

Second, a companion is a vital element in a enjoyable and memorable trip. Just imagine the content of sharing the happy moments with a friend on the trip. The companion can help take photos with your smiling face in the beautiful backdrops. By traveling alone, you’ll sure miss this part to some extent.  Besides, exchanging each other’s traveling experience during the trip must be the additional harvest you could get. Don’t you expect to make a friend and learn from him or her in the trip?

Third, but not the last, it is also economical to travel with a companion than travel alone. The cost of food and lodge, transportation, and other incidentals is a very good reason for one to choose a companion.

Although traveling alone also has merits such as more freedom and no conflicts for decision making, I believe the advantages of traveling with a companion far outweigh those of traveling alone.

From the above, it is obvious that traveling with a companion is more favorable to most people. Indeed the benefits and pleasure of traveling with a companion will make the trip much more enjoyable.

145 Some people say that advertising encourages us to buy things that we really do not need. Others say that advertisements tell us about new products that may improve our lives. Which viewpoint do you agree with? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.

Does advertising have more positive or negative effects on people’s life? It is not an easy question to answer. Some people think advertising encourages us buy things we really do not need, while others hold the opinion that advertisements sells things which help improve our lives. In my view, advertising does benefit rather than negatively influence people’s lives.

First, people can learn many useful information from advertisements. When new products enter the market, advertisements provide the most direct and effective means for people to get to know the novelties. And these new products are often helpful in improving the quality of people’s life. Take, the aero-fluted mattress, for instance. Such new bed mattress help solve the embarrassment that when friends come to stay overnights hosts have to let them sleep on the uncomfortable couches, even the cold floor. I am sure when people see the advertisement of this product, they must think it’s really considerate novelty for them.

Second, advertisements is a form of art. Creative concepts in the advertisements often bring people with heartedly smiles and inspirations which might as well improve people’s life in ways other than purchasing the products. If you see how many people are wearing the inspiration band which was granted as a gift when people buy Macdonald meals, you’ll understand the advertisement has successfully communed a encouraging message through this little colorful band to vast group of people. We can’t deny that the feel of belong to a positive member helps improve people’s moods in some extent in this case.

Moreover, advertisements have become an unseparatable part of people’s daily life. Most people are accustomed to getting information from advertisements and feel the knowledge of popular advertisements makes them feel in fashion.

Although sometimes, people make end up in buying things not really useful under the encouragement of advertisements, we can’t put all blame on advertisements. The purchasers may also have good reasons for such purchases.

From the above discussion, it is fair to conclude that advertisements are playing a favorable role in people’s life rather than imposing negative influences.
