嗯，是的，但是我现在想GAP也不完全是为了申请一个更好的学校什么的，毕竟结果很难说，风险太大。我现在是觉得想去做一些自己想做但是没做成的事情，之前准备申请也是自己DIY，为了赶DDL完全没有想好自己以后的career或者说申请这个专业到底是为什么，就像后面那位大神说的一样。所以也想趁这段时间更充分地了解一下这两个专业再做决定。其次，我的选校也是很匆忙的，有很多学校其实我都是申请完才知道有的，自己信息没有收集到位。所以出于这样的考虑，您是怎么建议的？

Thank you for answering so carefully. I can't agree more that if I want to apply the MFE program, I need to get more courses of maths, statistics and programming. That's what I am worrying about, I don't know much about programming actually. So I want to spend more time on learning it, just for better fitting the program.

About the internship, actually ,my CV only show ONE internship in the securities firm, that's why I think it's a factor lead to fail.

Third, it's about my academic performance. I don't have a competitive GPA, it's a key point. However, my GPA shows an upward trend, and since the third year of my college, I stayed in top 10% of my department. So I think it can be explained.

Finally, I was always considering that I did not collect the information in a right way. After I finished my application, I have found a lot of schools that I could apply to. So I would spend some time to choose schools more carefully.

我是这样觉着的，今年的申请已经接近尾声，你应该对这两个专业的不同有进一步的了解。如果没有，尝试联系在读学长学姐 以及已经在相关领域工作的人 挖掘自己究竟感兴趣的是什么 明确自己的职业规划。
如果觉着不甘心 想再试试 那就gap year， 但是 把gap year plan的顺序也制订好。比如哪些条件，比如programming skills 或者another internship or gre score，对你接下来的申请帮助比较大 那就提前，其他想做的 比如志愿者（毕竟对graduate school申请的帮助微乎其微，那就在申请结束的半年去做。
另一个选择就是先工作几年，积攒工作经验，对申请的帮助肯定会大很多。
