7.How do movies and television influence people’s behavior? Use reasons and specific examples to support your answers.

这是我正式写的第一篇托福作文，本来都要放弃了，受此论坛的各位的文章鼓舞，开始练作文，欢迎路过的各位大侠提些建议，谢谢！

Since the day motion-pictures was created, it has greatly influenced people’s mind and behavior. Silent films brought joys to people’s tedious lives. Chaplin, made people burst into great laughs and then tears. It is from that time, people had a new kind of entertainment, a tool for communication, and a teacher.

As a popular form of entertainment, movies and televisions changed people’s lifestyle. A family, once used to spend their evenings by talking, reading, house working, or even resting early, now usually sit together before a TV set, watching television programs merely after their evening meals. In weekends, or at any time when they got free, pairs of lovers often go to cinema to have a happy time span. And now, even a huge number of “coach potatoes” are killing their time in TV shows. Televisions and movies become part of some people’s everyday lives today.

As a tool for communication, movies and televisions changed people’s minds and acts through whose contents. During the 1980’s in China, as the few dubbed films were brought in, young people have began to learn about the exotic fashions. They tried to wear sunglasses, jeans, and dance with discos. When it comes to some more serious issues such as on going international events, I believe that any one who had kept an eye on the all-day coverings of the warfare in Iraq would be impressed and the lively images and sounds did arouse some demonstrations and rallies. No matter they are about fictions or facts, movies and televisions always seems to have a more contagious effect on exercising influence on people.

Also, movies and televisions can be a great help in the role of teaching people things. Combined with modern computer technologies and as a form of art expression, they can make the learning stuffs, such as history, science, human behavior and many other subjects more easily to understand and the learning process more enjoyable. For instance, Discovery, an TV program series covering about every corners of  human and scientific explores is very popular in America and other countries, which made people no need to walk out around the world to explore themselves or confused at a thick text book to make clear those facts. Its fascinating descriptions can also inspired people to learn more and see more.

In sum, movies and televisions take people time to be entertained, give them direct and vivid information to catch varies of new or old knowledge, ideas, trends and thus exert a great influence on their behaviors.

我的困难在于不会写，拿到题目没话可说，GRE作文也是同样只得到3.5。

为检查是否我的思维真有问题，就拿中文写了全文，然后翻成此文，然而，以后怎么练，我还是苦恼加疑惑，谁能指教一下我？不胜感激！

    很多刚开始写作文的人都会觉得没话说。其实并不是真的没话说，而是你想说的东东很难用英语表达出来。因此，你的思维决没问题，问题还是在语言功夫。

　俺不提倡先写中文然后翻成英文的做法，这不利于培养用英文思维写作的能力。比如你写的第一段，看得出你原本的中文意思很好，但直接翻过来就不一样了。你可以对照一下俺在括号里改写的情况。因此，即使是翻译过来，也不要直译。
