Hello there!
Sp let me answer your questions one by one:
First of all, for a regular full-time MBA in the US 35 will be a bit old. Especially if you have not by now developed into a managerial position. You will however have other good options - like an E-MBA or European MBAs (where the candidates tend to be older)
Question 1:
A top-20 US MBA will be unlikely because of your age. But this will depend on lots of other things too - your GMAT, your schooling, your GPA, what you do at work, your volunteer work, etc. etc.
Question 2:
Yes, leadership experience is very helpful and very advantageous. But no you don’t HAVE TO have it already. But still it’s good to show whatever you do have.
Question 3:
It’s not necessary (even if I am a consultant), but it can be very helpful, especially since you are overseas. From China, it can be very difficult to get an idea of what really goes on. My personal recommendation is to find yourself one based overseas.
Question 4: An EMBA is usually shorter. The students are usually older. And many will already have some management experience. Basically for you, an EMBA is the more appropriate program, even though you don’t have much management experience yet.
I hope this helps!!!
