After being rejected by DUKE MMS and LSE MFin, I finally received my first offer from the Masters in Management program at London Business School, probably my last offer as well, because I only applied for four schools (PKU is the other one, but don't think I will get in)
Application experience sharing:
- Essay: Nothing special to share; questions are quite standard. Special attention paid to Q3 - What personal values you can bring to LBS. I think it is only section that you can differentiate yourself from the competition. No matter what characteristic you pick up, make sure that you tell a STORY in your essay. Personally i think writing style > the quality of your story
- Interview: My interview experience is quite different from other folks'. I was not challenged by the alumnus and the interview was quite short, only 40 minutes I think. The length of the interview depends on the style of the interviewer. Some people just prefer to a Wikipedia style interview. I think I got the luck. But be prepared. Once again, interview focuses more on your personal fit; therefore, make sure you tell stories during the interview. The interviewers want to see a storyteller, someone who can tell a story, but definitely not someone who recites paragraphs.
